When Maggie, her husband Kyle, and their son Ethan move into a new house, they’re excited for a fresh start. They build a den for the fox and her kits in the forest, returning them to their natural habitat. The husky, whom Ethan has nicknamed CJ, continues to be a loyal companion, seeming to fit perfectly into their lives.
Every weekend, Maggie, Ethan, and CJ visit the fox family in the woods. Vixen, as they’ve named the mother fox, always welcomes them, accompanied by her playful kits. The bond between the two families—human and animal—grows stronger with each visit, reminding Maggie that sometimes the most unexpected encounters lead to the most meaningful connections.
